The Goliath is a full-on fat tire bike for big guys. With great geometry for all-mountain and cross-country mountain biking, this titanium fat bike is the perfect snow bike for big and tall people.
This large-frame fat bike is built with clearance for 27.5×4.5″ tires for ultimate float in the snow or sand. The Goliath can also be built up with 29×3” tires to make it a lighter cross-country trail bike with lots of cushion, great traction, and superior stability and control. The titanium frame is built super tough for big guys needing a fat tire bike, and it comes in M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, and 4XL sizes for riders from 5’9″ to 7’3″ tall. The Goliath comes with proportional-length cranks for optimal pedaling efficiency as well as extra-wide handlebars to fit broad shoulders. The wheels are custom-built right here at our shop in Boulder, Colorado, using our own Clydesdale hubs, which are rated for riders up to 450 lbs!
We build these wheels using 32 DT Swiss competition double-butted spokes per wheel as well as DT Swiss brass pro-lock nipples to keep your wheels true for many miles. Each wheel on our fat tire bikes for tall guys is precision built by professional wheel builders in our shop using high-tech spoke wrenches, wheel-building stands, and spoke tension meters.

There is a lot more that goes into building a big and tall bike than most people are aware of. It is not as simple as just scaling up a “normal” sized frame. When you do only scale up the bike, several things happen. First, the tubes are longer, and more stretched out which makes them less stiff. This results in high-speed frame shimmy, a scary by-product of a poorly designed bike. Second, the added material from scaling up a bike makes it heavier, and thus harder to move, especially if you try to solve problem number one by using heavier tubes. Third, without a fork with a long enough steering tube, the handlebars will be far too low for a tall cyclist. Improper handlebar height causes discomfort in the back, neck, wrists, and arms. Fourth, building a bike for a tall rider with average-length cranks fails to consider how body proportions change the taller a person is.
